Parfois cela ne suffit pas et il faudra alors lever l'indétermination autrement.

On peut parfois trouver la limite d'une fonction en l'encadrant par des fonctions qui ont la même limite.
Si pour tout réel $x$ voisin de $a$:
$f(x)≤g(x)≤h(x)$ et si $\lim↙{x→a}f(x)=\lim↙{x→a}h(x)=l$ alors$ \lim↙{x→a}g(x)=l$.
$f(x)≤g(x)$ et si $\lim↙{x→a}f(x)=+∞$ alors $\lim↙{x→a}g(x)=+∞$.
$g(x)≤h(x)$ et si $\lim↙{x→a}h(x)=-∞$ alors $\lim↙{x→a}g(x)=-∞$.
